Be it with your gal pals or your special someone.

What is more important than decorations? These festive streamers are cheery & easy to make! Supplies needed: Construction paper, ribbon, scissors & hot glue. Cut out some hearts using your construction paper & scissors, cut some long strips of ribbon & glue your hearts to the ribbon & there you have it! Holiday Heart Streamers!

2015/01/img_3808.jpg

Here we have a hugs & kisses tablecloth. Supplies needed: White tablecloth, black paint & medium/small paintbrush. This next step is easy! Paint Xs & Os all over your tablecloth in no specific manner. If it looks & feels right you are good to go!

2015/01/img_3809.jpg

First you will need to wash & dry your strawberries, than cut the stems off. Than you will want to break up your Hershey bars place them in a bowl & microwave the pieces until the chocolate is runny. Place all of your items on your wooden skewers like the picture above & using a spoon drizzle your chocolate over your skewers.

5 Favorite Drug Store Make-Up Products

IMG_4273

Happy Monday! So today I want to talk about make-up, one of my favorite things!  However, I hate how sometimes make up can be a little pricey.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the big name make up brands like MAC, Lancome, Clinique, and Benefit, but there are some products that I prefer to buy at a drugstore (Target is my favorite).  I have compiled a list of 5 of my favorite  drugstore products that I have in my make-up bag that I LOVE! Hope you enjoy!

1.  NYX Liquid Illuminator

IMG_4249-2

This highlighter is one of my favorite make up items! Mixed with a good contour, this highlighter gives you the perfect glowing, fresh faced look! (Be on the lookout for a highlighting tutorial in the near future)

2. NYX Setting Spray

IMG_4250

My make up never feels complete without a setting spray to finish the look.  I have tried many different setting sprays and I can honestly say this one is my favorite. This spray sets your make-up and helps it last through the day.  I prefer the Dewy Finish look, but this product also comes in a Matte Finish as well.

3. Elf Cream Eyeliner

IMG_4252

I have always been a huge fan of cream eyeliners.  In the past I would spend a lot of money to get the perfect eyeliner until I found this gem! Only $1 and it works just as well as every other cream eyeliner I have tired.  Seriously, if you haven’t tried it you should!

4. Revlon Brow Fantasy

IMG_4251

I love this two in one eyebrow pencil and gel (You can tell from the picture that I clearly use mine a lot!).  It helps create the perfect shade and shape for your eyebrows! Love it!

5. Maybeline Full and Soft Mascara

IMG_4260

Out of all of my make-up products, I am most picky about my mascara.  I am constantly changing brands to try and find the perfect one.  Recently, I came across this one and I have to say it may be a keeper! It makes my eyelashes look full, long, and beautiful.  Out of all the drug store mascaras, this one is my favorite.

I hope you enjoy the products on this list as much as I do! Feel free to comment and let us know some of your favorite drug store  make-up products! Have a fabulous week! xoxo

Happy Sunday!

2015/01/img_3514.jpg

Hoping your Sunday was filled with relaxation & fellowship just as mine was. Now, today I am going to teach you a quick & easy hairstyle for those days where you would still like to look polished, but don’t want to take an eon to get ready!

2015/01/img_3511.jpg

The first step for me is showering & washing my hair. Now, you don’t have to shower first, but you want to make sure your hair has a little texture to it. If your hair is, “stick straight” the overall appearance will be different.

2015/01/img_3512.jpg

The next thing you want to do is put any products in your hair that you normally apply to your hair after a shower, & brush it through your hair. I normally don’t use the, “Loreal ever curl” but I want to give my hair a bit more of a wave for this style.

2015/01/img_3513.jpg

My hair is now brushed & ready to dry. I recently dyed my hair blonde & don’t like to apply too much heat to it so next I am going to let my hair air dry. During the in between time I won’t lie to you I took a pretty decent nap, but if you are trying to be productive you could always do laundry, wash dishes & even apply makeup!

2015/01/img_3526.jpg

My hair is now mostly dry. So, now it is time to style!

2015/01/img_3527.jpg

The supplies you are going to need for this next step is a curling iron (size of your choice. I like to use a medium sized barrel for this style) & a hair tie.

2015/01/img_3528.jpg

Now, what you are going to do is pull back most of your hair except for two chunks in the front. As you can see from above I like to part my hair in the middle for this style, but you can part really any way you prefer.

2015/01/img_3529.jpg

The next thing you are going to want to do is pull your hair up into a bun. I like the bun to be right on top of my head. Since my hair is on the shorter side some pieces tend to fall in the back. My preference is for there to be a few pieces back there, because I like this look to be a bit looser & not too polished.

2015/01/img_3530.jpg

Entering into the next step your hair should look similar to the image above.

2015/01/img_3531.jpg

Yes, you’ve guessed it now we are going to curl the pieces that lay flat in front.

2015/01/img_3532.jpg

I like to curl my hair in four sections. Two for each side.

2015/01/img_3533.jpg

How you are going to curl your hair pieces is with curling iron pointed downward coming from behind each curl & wrapping the hair around the barrel without clamping.

2015/01/img_3534.jpg

Now, that you have your four curled pieces what you are going to do is pull them down & brush your hair out with your fingers. Using a brush may leave your hair a bit on the puffy side. This is the last step so work with your hair & try what you like best. Now is the time to pin anything you don’t want hanging down.

2015/01/img_3535.jpg

Tada! There you have it a quick & cute hairstyle for those “lazy days”. If you have any questions feel free to comment below. Happy Sunday loves!

Hello From NYC!

IMG_4205

Hi all!! It’s Mallory! This week has been so busy as I am currently in New York, but I wanted to take a minute to respond to a question we got earlier this week asking about our role models and inspiration.

So, to begin, I have to say that every single person in my family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, are so important to me and have had a huge impact on the person I am today and the person I want to be.  But, I have to take a minute to focus on my amazing parents! Lets start with my Dad.  He is by far one of the most amazing people I know.  He is hard working, loving, caring, and selfless.  His entire life is dedicated to God and his family and I could not be more appreciative of what he has done for me. He has inspired me to be a hard worker and to follow my dreams.  And of course, we cannot forget about my AMAZING mother! She is truly my best friend in the entire world. She has been the person who I talk to about everything, go to for encouragement when I am sad, and look to for strength in any situation.  She has taught me unconditional love and sacrifice.  If I turn out to be anything like either one of my parents I will be beyond happy!

IMG_1566

Next are these two little crazies, my sister and brother.  Paige, that beautiful girl in the with me in the picture below (yes, I used to be blonde), is my little sister but I have always looked up to her in a way.  She is so full of love for others and sometimes I can’t even believe how incredibly selfless she is. Don’t get me wrong, we have our sisterly fights but there is no one I trust more in the world  and she will forever be not my best friend friend! And the handsome guy in the photo is my brother! He just turned 16, and he sure knows how to push my buttons but he is one of the coolest, most fun people I know! I love him with all my heart and he inspires me to be silly and fun! Seriously, he is one cool kid!

IMG_0449

And lastly, I need to talk about the four lovely ladies in the picture with me below.  These girls have been my best friends for more than a decade and all of them (Melissa, Carly, Veronica, and of course, Jessekah) have truly helped shaped the person I am.  I have learned different things for each one of them and they are all incorporated into my personality and who I have become.  We have been through both good and bad things as a group and we have always stuck together. They are all like a second family to me and I respect and look up to each one of them.

1935659_1115399539051_255248_n

(A little throwback from high school, we call this one our family photo!)

All these people have inspired me to be a better person, to live a life that is pleasing to God, and to follow my heart and dreams. I am beyond thankful for my these people, as they are all my inspirations and role models.

“Friyay”

2015/01/img_3437.jpg

A Very Happy “Friyay” to you my friend! Recently I had someone ask me to share my role models & inspirations so I will be doing exactly that.

2015/01/img_3442.jpg

My role models most definitely include every single one of my family members (pictured above). We have been through so much together & I have learned so much from each of their opposing personalities. They support me in everything I do & would go to the ends of the earth for me.

2015/01/img_3444.jpg

Next would have to be my amazing friends, “The Fab 5” if you will (also, pictured above. Yes that is a young Mal Pal & Jessekah). We have been inseparable since the 8th grade & I wouldn’t have it any other way. Whenever we are together it is all smiles & quick witted conversations. Good luck keeping up with us.

2015/01/img_2063.jpg

My inspiration would have to be my amazing Mama! Unfortunately, she passed away when I was younger, but she definitely gave me my keen sense of style & sassy attitude. She was always finding the good in every situation & would constantly say, “if you don’t like the way things are than change them.” She is very missed, but I see her everyday in my sister & niece.

I am very blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people! Tell us who are your role models & inspirations in a comment below. Happy Friyay everyone! Stay safe this weekend. XOXO

Clip-in Extensions

Alright, here it goes I am letting you guys in on a secret. . . I wear clip-in extensions! *Gasp* unbelievable right? It all started my senior year of high school when I decided to cut my hair short & than immediately regretted my decision. I’ve had numerous sets of them & I am truly obsessed! My first set was a challenge. I didn’t know exactly how to put them in & my tracks were constantly showing. I finally went to a hairstylist & asked for help & I haven’t looked back since. I am here to show you the easiest & most affective way to insert them. Here it goes. . .

IMG_3334

Above are the supplies you will need to properly place your clip-in extensions. Hairspray, a fine tooth comb, a brush, a set of clip-in extensions (I got mine at Mario Max in El Cajon, CA. off of Broadway. My set includes 3 tracks, but other sets may include more) & last but not least & not shown in this image is a hair tie or clip to hold your hair when sectioning it.

IMG_3335

The first thing you are going to do is brush out your hair. My hair is still semi-styled from the day before. I don’t wash my hair daily because it is naturally coarse & will get very brittle if I wash it every day. The main idea is just to make sure your hair is dry.

IMG_3336

The next step is to section the bottom layer of your hair. As you can see from the picture shown above you don’t need a huge chunk, a small layer of hair will suffice.

IMG_9496

The first extension you are going to use is the one with 2 clips, like the one shown above.

IMG_3341

You insert the extension by first hair spraying the root where you will soon be placing your extension.

IMG_3342

The next thing you will want to do is tease the entire layer of your hair where you will be clipping in the extension. This is just to assure that your extension will stay in place all day. I like to tease from the bottom upward as shown above.

IMG_3337

You will continue to do this from layer to layer, a total of 3 layers altogether. This is what it looks like when the first layer is applied & you are moving onto your second layer.

IMG_3338

Next you are going to place in the extension with a total of 3 clips to your second layer. I like to section off my hair for this one right above my ears.

IMG_3339

This is what my hair looks like with a total of 2 clips. Next you are going to apply your third & last extension. As you can see my second track is showing that is okay for now because no one is going to see that track once I insert my third extension & fear not you may overlap your extensions.

IMG_3340

Your last extension should have a total of 4 clips. I normally section off my hair for the third clip right above my temples.

IMG_3343

This is what my hair looks like with all 3 extensions properly clipped in. See how you can see the cut of my hair? Now what I am going to do is style my hair. Today like most days I am going to curl my hair just as I would if I had no extensions in.

IMG_3344

There you have it the finished product! I hope you found this tutorial quick, easy & helpful. Please comment below with any questions you may have. Happy Monday & I hope you all have an amazing day!
